I’ve got a book coming out. The Aping American: a dog & pony show collection will be available for purchase this Independence Day, July 4, 2025.
The book features several new pieces that you won’t find here on the substack or anywhere else. One of which is a three part series of poems. After fooling around on Suno a few nights ago, I got the AI golem to churn out a rendition of the first piece that sounded too good to not share. Consider it a demo until I can convince one of my more talented musician friends to record it (or I finally pick back up the guitar again myself).
As I’ve been putting the manuscript together for this book, it’s clear to me that pain is a recurring theme throughout. Whether personal or societal, much of my writing wrestles with the problem of pain. It’s my prayer that The Aping American can serve as a testament to perseverance in the midst of pain and turmoil, both for the individual man and the American people. That, and make you laugh—which is a definitely part of the recipe.
