Dissent.11—Fishtank, Bloodsport , and Reality TV with Scott Sullivan MMA

Super stoked to share this episode with y’all featuring the Fishtank Sensei himself, Scott Sullivan MMA! Scott is an MMA trainer who is currently best known for assisting in the newest reality (breaking) show sensation, Fishtank!

The brainchild of Sam Hyde and Jet Neptune, Fishtank is a 24/7 livestreamed reality show where contestants are locked in a house competing for a cash prize—but the real suga is that the audience can antagonize (or assist) the contestants through a variety of wacky and zany ways, the least of which is spamming slurs through the house’s TTS system.

Scott has featured in Seasons 1 & 2 of the show as well its Bitchtank and All Star: Bloodgames mini seasons. His scenes in Season 2 are especially great where he takes on the mantle of Sensei and teaches the fish how to throw hands.

I became acquainted with Scott through a super secret X group chat for Christian MDE fans. MDE is the acronym for Sam Hyde’s comedy troupe, Million Dollar Extreme. If you’re here at dog & pony show, it’s likely that you’re at least familiar with Sam Hyde and MDE. I know my guests and I have talked about their comedy a few times now.

One purpose of Spectacle of Dissent is to have conversations with DOERS. Talking about this and that somesuch is all well and good, but we must actually DO SOMETHING otherwise it’s all so much hot air. And Scott is a DOER. I found his story really encouraging personally, and I hope that you will as well.
